Prospective Student Auditions & Interviews

Admissions to Emory University are administered by the Office of Undergraduate Admission. While live auditions/in-person interviews are not required for regular admission to Emory, they are required for Music Merit Scholarship consideration. On this page, prospective students will find information on both the Music Merit Scholarship Auditions & Interviews and Supplemental Materials.

Music Merit Scholarship Auditions/Interviews

Auditions/Interviews for scholarships is a separate process from supplemental materials submissions.
Only prescreened applicants will be invited to audition/interview for music merit scholarships.
Each area has their own prescreening requirements. Contact your area directly using the appropriate email address provided below.
Live Auditions ARE required to be considered for Merit Scholarships in Performance (Music Woodruff Awards, Music Liberal Arts Scholarships). In-person interviews are required for Merit Scholarships in Composition (Music Liberal Arts Scholarships). More information can be found on the Scholarship page.

Supplemental Materials

Only Emory applicants who receive an invitation from the Office of Undergraduate Admission (OUA) to submit supplemental materials may do so. This invitation will come from the OUA via email after a prospective student submits their application for admission to Emory. This email invitation will contain detailed instructions on how to submit materials.
For supplemental materials in Performance, send only solo video recordings. Do not send large ensemble recordings (chamber music recordings are acceptable). See link below for details regarding Composition supplemental materials.
To ensure timely review of supplemental materials, students should not send supplemental materials until asked to do so via email.
Important: set your sharing permissions to “public” or “anyone with the link” so your video is viewable.
