Prospective Students

All students interested in studying Music at Emory must first be accepted to Emory College through the Office of Admission.

Accepted Emory students have the option to pursue music through three tracks:

1. Composition
2. History, Culture, and Theory
3. Performance

The Performance Track is the only area that requires auditions. See Prospective Student Auditions for more details.

Music Department Ensembles

High School students do not audition for ensemble enrollment prior to their arrival on campus.

Most ensembles at Emory require an audition, except World Music and Dance Ensembles, and University Chorus, which requires a voice check. Ensemble membership is encouraged for all students enrolled at Emory, music majors and non-majors. Auditions take place at the beginning of the fall semester.
