Prospective Students

Welcome! We are pleased that you are considering Music at Emory.

All students must be accepted to Emory College through the Office of Admission. Prospective students may audition for the music major during the senior year of high school, although acceptance to the music program has no bearing on admission to Emory College. Students may also wait until they arrive on campus to audition for the music major and performing ensembles.

High-school seniors may audition in person or by recording (CD, DVD, or web upload) to be eligible for a music major at Emory, provided you are admitted to Emory University.

Music Department Ensembles

High School students do not audition for ensemble enrollment prior to their arrival on campus.

Ensembles at Emory, except University Chorus, require an audition (University Chorus requires a voice check). Ensemble membership is encouraged for all students enrolled at Emory, music majors, and non-majors, and they take place at the beginning of the fall semester.
