Lisa Wiedman Yancich, violinist, is a member of the 1st violin section of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra (ASO). She entered under the baton of Robert Shaw experiencing many national and international tours as well as Grammy award winning albums. She did her studies at Amherst College (BA) and Yale University (MM). Her main teachers include Renato Bonacini, Philip Naegele, James Buswell, and Syoko Aki. Lisa also had influential coaching with Glenn Dicterow and Charlie Castleman. Before joining the ASO she played with the New Haven Symphony, the Florida West Coast Symphony and the Grand Teton Music Festival, Lake Placid Sinfonietta among others. In 1982 she played with the Camerata Lysy of Gstaad, Switzerland, and toured China and India under the direction of Yehudi Menhuin just as China was opening its cultural doors to the West. Ms. Yancich has enjoyed teaching as an Artist Affilliate at Emory University since 1988.
