AYWS ROSTER 2009-10
Thank you to all students who auditioned for the 2009-10 Atlanta Youth Wind Symphony!
There were 316 auditons in eight days! What an impressive group of talented and friendly young men and women who participated in highly competitive auditions. Packed instrument populations included flute (29), clarinet (37), and trumpet (23). It is our hope that your audition was fun, friendly, interesting, and educational, and that, regardless of the outcome, you will continue to take auditions and send your energy and enthusiasm for great music-making back to everyone in your school and community!
Students who qualify for "alternate" positions will be contacted by email later today.
EYSO winds and percussion are posted below the AYWS roster.
The first rehearsal will be held this Monday, August 24th, at 7:30 pm at the Schwartz Center for Performing Arts. Please arrive early to receive your folder.

EYSO Winds & Percussion 2009-10
Congratulations to all who auditioned!
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Please note that students are listed in alphabetical order; there will be opportunity for rotation in some sections for different repertoire selections.
Students attend approximately 5 rehearsals before each of the two full orchestra performances, one in November and one in May. EYSO rehearses Wednesdays from 7:30-9:30 p.m.; the first full orchestra rehearsal is October 14.
Car-pooling options greatly increase when the strings students are selected in early September; the string section generally involves around 80 students from 40 area high schools.
Students who are also selected for AYWS pay just the AYWS tuition fee to participate in both ensembles.
This year, we are delighted to announce that EYSO will be the featured ensemble on National Public Radio’s From the Top recorded at Emory University in November!
Please see www.emoryyouthsymphony.org for general information.
