Atlanta Youth Wind Symphony
Congratulations to all students who auditioned for the Atlanta Youth Wind Symphony--it was a pleasure meeting you and hearing you play. We hope that you found the audition experience to be friendly, pleasant, and educational. Unfortunately, we are not able to offer positions to all qualified players, and the high level of competitive auditions made decision-making difficult. Regardless of the results, you are to be commended for preparing this performance and pushing yourself musically. We wish you and your school programs the very best as you begin your school year.
The following students are offered a position in the 2011-12 AYWS and EYSO (see below). Alternate members/subs will be contacted individually over the weekend.
The first rehearsal and parent meeting will take place this coming Monday, August 22nd (7:00 pm PARENT MEETING, 7:30 pm AYWS assembles in Tharp).

Emory Youth Symphony Orchestra Wind, Percussion & Harp
CONGRATULATIONS to the 217 students who participated in the 2011-12 auditions! The following musicians were selected for the Emory Youth Symphony Orchestra's 2011-12 Season. Please note that the roster is listed by section ALPHABETICALLY! There will be opportunity for rotation in most sections between the two full orchestra concerts.
Wind and percussion students attend just 5-6 rehearsals before each of the two full orchestra concerts in November and May respectively. (These concerts are scheduled between the AYWS concerts). Students pay only the AYWS tuition fee for participation in both AYWS and/or EYSO.
Our first FULL ORCHESTRA rehearsal will be on October 12 in preparation for the November 16 Fall Concert.

Membership since 1988 has been drawn from approximately sixty different high schools in Cobb, Gwinnett, DeKalb, Fulton, Cherokee, Coweta, Henry, Clayton, Rockdale, Morgan, and Forsyth counties. In addition, students have recently traveled as far as Augusta and Rome to participate. Membership is competitive by auditions, and students are required to be enrolled in their own school music programs.
